Roofing Work We Do on Your Home

We are a GAF Certified Contractor, and we work on concrete and clay tile, asphalt shingle and the low-slope flat sections that sit over patios and additions. Most calls start with roof repair, a leak or a roof inspection, and some end with a full roof replacement. We also handle gutters, storm damage repair, hail damage repair and commercial roofing for small buildings. Pick any service below to read the steps and the price drivers for that kind of work.

  • Roofers in harnesses re-roofing a single-story stucco home, with ladders, a blue tarp on the lawn and a loaded dump trailer out front

  • Roofer on an extension ladder checking an asphalt shingle roof with a clipboard while a homeowner watches from the front yard of a stucco single-story home

    Roof Inspections

  • Roofer in a harness photographs missing shingles along a roof valley, with a blue tarp over damage and a stack of replacement shingles nearby under overcast sky

    Storm Damage Repair

We photograph wind and rain damage, fix shingles, tile, flashing and gutters, and keep your yard covered while we work.

  • Worker in a gray cap seen from behind on a ladder, using a cordless drill to fasten a hanger on an aluminum gutter along a stucco home's eave beside a downspout

    Gutters

New gutters formed on site, repairs and downspout changes that carry roof water away from your walls and foundation, with your yard covered while we work.

  • Roofer kneeling on a low-slope asphalt shingle roof of a stucco house, working at a pipe vent with loose shingles nearby, an aluminum ladder against the eave

    Roof Leak Repair

We trace a leak to where the water really gets in, fix the flashing, boot, shingle or tile behind it, and clean up before we leave.

  • Roofer in gloves kneeling on a brown asphalt shingle roof, working shingles beside a pipe boot, with a coil nailer nearby and a residential street below

    Sudden Damage Repair

When a storm, a falling branch or a sudden leak opens your roof, we cover the damage, protect what's inside and then make a proper repair.

  • Roofer in a safety harness kneels on a shingle roof near a valley with lifted and missing shingles, a blue tarp, and replacement shingles beside an aluminum ladder

    Hail Damage Repair

We find bruised shingles, cracked tile and dented metal after hail, show you photos and fix what was hit while your yard stays protected.

    Flat Roofing

The Steps of a Roof Job

Nearly every job goes through these steps, and we keep you posted on where we are.

  1. 1

    Give us a call

Describe what you noticed, like a ceiling stain, a tile out of place or a drooping gutter. We pick a visit time that suits you.

  2. 2

    A free look with photos

We go over the roof, look in the attic when it helps and photograph what we see. Then we go through the pictures with you and explain what each one says about your roof.

  3. 3

    A written estimate

Your free estimate lists every item on paper. If a repair will do, a repair is all you see. If the roof is too worn to patch, we set our reasons beside the photos so you can weigh them yourself.

  4. 4

    The work itself

Plants get covered, walkways get protected and the dumpster goes where you agree. The crew keeps a tidy site and keeps kids and pets away from where debris falls.

  5. 5

    Final cleanup and walk

We sweep, pull the magnet across the yard and haul the debris away. Then we walk the finished job with you and answer any last questions.

What Decides the Cost of Your Roof Job

Neighbors on the same street can get very different numbers. Your price is built from your roof, not a price sheet. These are the things we weigh when we write it up.

Estimates are free and itemized, so each part of the job has its own price. If opening the roof shows something new, we pause and talk with you before doing more.

How big and how steep
A larger roof needs more material and more hours. Steep slopes slow the crew down for safety and call for more staging.
Roofing type
Asphalt shingle, concrete tile, clay tile and flat roofing each carry their own material and labor cost. On many tile roofs we keep the tiles and replace the underlayment beneath them, which changes the labor.
Hidden condition below
Old underlayment gets brittle, and decking near past leaks can rot. Often that stays hidden until the old roof is off, so we explain ahead of time how we handle it and the price per sheet.
Extra layers on the roof
When a second layer of shingles sits over the first, tear-off takes longer and dump fees go up.
Permits and prep around the house
A full replacement needs a permit from the city building department, and we file it and schedule the inspection. Tight side yards, large trees or a pool near the house add time to protect the yard before the roof work starts.

About Hawaiian Gardens Roofing Pros

We are a roofing company that works on homes in Hawaiian Gardens and the towns around it. We fix and replace tile, shingle and flat roofs, and we pay attention to the parts that wear out first: underlayment, flashing and the seams where a flat section meets a sloped one. Long dry summers are hard on those spots, which is why we check them on every visit.

We run our jobs the way we would want work done at our own place. We show up when we say, we explain what we see in plain words, and we leave your yard the way we found it. If you just need a small repair, we will tell you so.

How We Look After Your Home During the Job

Roof work takes place above your rooms and across your yard. We plan for both and keep you informed, so nothing catches you off guard.

The yard is protected before tear-off

Before any old roofing comes off, we tarp the flower beds, shrubs and AC unit. Plywood goes on soft ground under the ladders and dumpster. Each evening a magnet goes over the lawn and driveway to pick up stray nails.

Covered floors when we step in

Now and then we need to see the attic or a stained ceiling. Inside, we lay drop cloths, put on shoe covers and take the shortest route. We always ask before coming in.

A daily check-in

Each day before we go, you hear what was finished, what turned up and what comes next. If the wood under the old roof is soft, we show you photos and talk it through before doing extra work. We offer service in English and Spanish.

Products we install often

As a GAF Certified Contractor, we put in GAF shingle systems following the manufacturer's layout, from the underlayment up to the ridge cap.

Support with claims and payment

We work directly with your insurance claim and can go up on the roof with your adjuster. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

What Homeowners Want to Know

Something not covered here? (562) 545-3161

Does the estimate cost anything?

No. We charge nothing for the inspection or the written estimate. You get photos of the roof and a price broken out item by item, and you are free to think it over.

How do I know if my roof needs a repair or a new one?

It mostly comes down to the roof's age and the condition of the layers below. One failed flashing joint or a handful of broken tiles is a repair. When the underlayment is spent everywhere, a patch only sends the leak to a new spot, and we will say so straight.

What do you do to keep my yard and house safe?

Tarps go over plants, the AC unit and anything along the walls. Plywood sits under the ladders and the dumpster, and each evening we sweep and pull a magnet across the yard. Any time we step indoors, drop cloths go down and we put on shoe covers.

Will you help me with an insurance claim?

Yes. We work directly with your insurance claim, photograph the damage and can be on the roof when the adjuster comes. Coverage is your insurer's call, and our job is to make sure nothing gets missed.

Is there a warranty on a new roof?

Qualifying roofs can get a GAF System Plus manufacturer limited warranty. At the estimate we let you know if your roof qualifies and what the warranty covers.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval. We walk you through it when we review your estimate.

How many days does a new roof take?

A shingle roof on a typical house takes a few days, and tile takes more. Rain, permit timing or rotted decking can stretch that. You get the schedule before we start and an update every day.
